New release of the Code Igniter User Authentication/Management Library

July 24th, 2006

Update May 31, 2008. There's been some interest in the post recently. CodeIgniter has evolved considerably since I first wrote this, and the Auth library as it stands now is not something that I wrote. There are many good alternatives for user authentication in CI.

Update: Peccavio has taken over this project from me. The new home is http://mini-app.peccavi.com/.

A new release of the userauth management framework for Code Igniter has been made available.

First off, thanks George Dunlop (Peccavio) for his work in migrating this into PHP 4. Well done! I believe it works, but if you encounter any bugs please let me know.

At the userauth test site I’ve posted a new version. It is all the files in one (for PHP 4 and 5) as well as some enhancements, code cleanup and extra functionality (notably edit groups). The installation routine has been enhanced to make the installation as easy as possible. Basically, the first time you try to login it will install your db tables and users for you.I’d still like to further enhance this mini-project, but for now we have a functional, feasible, productive user management permissions framework.
